Professor Lian’s research interests lie in the field of causal inference methods and stochastic frontier analysis, with specific applications in investment, trade credit, and supply chain dynamics. He has been actively researching topics such as supply chain finance, leverage adjustment, trade credit, and innovation. He teaches courses in Financial Econometrics and Applied Econometrics.

His teaching abilities have been highly regarded, as evidenced by his consecutive perfect teaching evaluations in the MBA corporate finance course over a span of three years. He was was awarded the title of My Favorite Teacher in 2022 by Lignan College.

With his expertise in applied econometrics, he has made significant contributions to the Stata community by developing several popular packages, including winsor2, xtbalance, bdiff, and sftt, which have been widely used by researchers in various fields. He is one of the initiators of the Chinese Stata Users Group Meeting, which is one of the imporat meeting of Stata Corporation. He has been invited several times as a guest speaker to deliver keynote speeches (2018th, 2020th, 2021th, 2022th, 2023th).

He is also the founder of the website https://www.lianxh.cn, one of the largest academic websites in mainland China specializing in management and economics. Currently, it has published over 1300 articles introducing econometric and statistical methods. The WeChat official account lianxh_cn, established based on this website, has accumulated over 280,000 subscribers, with a total reading volume exceeding 20 million and a daily average reading volume exceeding 10,000.
